Remember The One Hosts Event to Support Team Thomas

A great afternoon was had by all who came out to support Team Thomas! The event, sponsored by Remember The One, was in support of Thomas Ross, a 12-year-old boy from Oconee that will undergo heart valve replacement surgery this coming June. Thomas is the first “One” to be given financial support by Remember The One, starting a practice that the non-profit organization will continue on an annual basis. With great weather and many local sport celebrities on hand, including UGA Head Football Coach Mark Richt, supporters enjoyed watching a whiffle ball game played by some of UGA’s current athletes, Former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl Champion Brad Johnson, Thomas Ross, his father, Glen, and many of Thomas’ baseball teammates and friends. The 7th inning stretch came complete with fans and players alike dancing the Cupid Shuffle. Fans were also given the opportunity to purchase t-shirts in support of their favorite team that day: the red, or the blue team. Food concessions, face painting and balloon animal making stations for the kids made for a fun afternoon.
