It was a beautiful day and great turnout of support for the 3rd Annual Remember The One Celebrity Golf Tournament. Held at The Georgia Club in Statham, GA, on May 7th, 2014, the tournament was attended by local business sponsors, noted local sports celebrities, volunteers, and many others who came out for the day to show their support and participate in a silent auction. To get the day started, those gathered heard from Remember The One’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kip Dominy, and golf chair, Bruce Kelly. The golfers played an 18-hole scramble with their shotgun start at around 11:30 am. “Reme”, the new Remember The One mascot was also on hand to bring smiles and photo opportunities among those in attendance. The silent auction ran throughout the day and had donations from many local businesses. Local photographers captured the day on film as well. After the golf day, prizes were awarded and a light dinner was served.
The whole day is to continue to support the mission of Remember The One. Remember The One.org was started because the founders’ son Hogan was “one” in 8,000 to be diagnosed with a condition called Trisomy 18. In his short life of 16 days, Hogan’s story was shared by his father which eneded up being followed by people around the world and showed how “One” life can impact others, thus inspiring he and his wife to start this organization. Rememeber The One is a website, there to be a free resource for any “one” that is on a journey in life they wish to share to gain support from others. Whether someone is dealing with a medical diagnosis, life issue such as adoption, domestic violence, or a spiritual one, the website is there with the tools in place for people to share and comminicate with others,in a secure environment. It is also a place for anyone to read the stories of others to find inspiration for their own lives and offer support to anyone who is sharing their journey. Remember The One is a gathering place, not only to share life’s stuggles, but to share life’s victories as well.
