Remember The One hosted an awareness event on July 31st titled “The Healing Power of Hope” featuring guest speakers Katherine and Jay Wolf of Hope Heals. The event took place at The Georgia Club with approximately 140 guests in attendance to enjoy a sit-down meal and dessert followed by updates about Remember The One from Kara Turk, journey page user Daniel Thomas speaking of how the Remember The One website has helped their family, and then the featured speakers of the evening, Katherine and Jay Wolf of Hope Heals. Katherine is from Athens, GA, and with her husband, Jay and son James, they travel the country spreading their ministry of Hope. Their videos on social media have gone viral and their inspirational story continues to touch many. Katherine suffered a massive brain stem stroke in 2008, only six months after having her son James. Miraculously, she survived and continues her recovery to this day.
Katherine talked that evening of July 31st of her experience from the perspective of her long recovery at different stages, how even though she could not do the things she wanted to or were used to doing that somehow she was alive, and that through her faith, determination to live and recover, she had hope. That hope, is what Hope Heals passes along to others. Katherine and Jay also talked about how a website like Remember The One can bring so many people together in situations such as theirs, that providing a place to communicate and share their story was an important piece to Katherine’s recovery. Sponsors for the event included Lydia & David Guthrie, TSD Capital Group, Athens Gastroenterology Association, Golden Pantry, Britt’s Home Furnishings and Turner & Patat, P.C.
